With .jobs, the world is your oyster - Part 1

Once you get one, POINT IT!
So you've taken the plunge...you've acquired a .jobs domain name. Alright! Good move! Shows you're proactive and a forward-looking thinker.
But now that you've taken the first step, there's one more critical step to take. It's an easy one -- and one that will pay great dividends both immediately and over time.
The critical step? Now that you've got it, use it. It's easy. We'll show you how.
A threshold question is whether you should just point your .jobs domain somewhere or whether you should create your own website. Point? Create? Huh? Let's back up a bit and do a little Internet 101.
Domain names point to a particular place on the Internet. In techie-talk, they point to name servers, which are computers which tell your users where to go on the Internet to find you. Domains (actually, name servers) can be configured to point to just about anywhere, such as the home page of a website or any page inside.
So the quickest, easiest and simplest thing to do is point your .jobs domain directly at an HR page which already exists inside your company's .com website. Which page you use is entirely up to you. Many HR professionals point their .jobs domains to the HR front page within their company's .com website. This gives a user an introduction to your HR universe. Other professionals point their .jobs domains directly at their current job openings page. This facilitates quick and easy access to your job openings.
Either way, the process of pointing is quick and easy. Just identify the page at which you want your .jobs domain to point, and tell your IT folks to point it there. They will know how to configure both your .jobs domain and your name servers to point directly to that page. The whole process should only take about 15 minutes of their time, max.
And voila! You now have a working .jobs domain which points exactly where you want.
Here's the kicker: to really look professional and polished, tell your IT folks that you want your .jobs domain to stick in your browser's address bar.
Stick in my brower's address bar? Huh?
We knew you'd ask! Check our part 2, where we'll explain what we mean and show you how professional it looks!
