ASDA reinvigorates its e-recruitment practices with .jobs

Retailer ASDA, already well-known for online graduate recruiting, needed something extra for a new corporate careers site.

They got it with a .jobs domain: www.asda.jobs

"The careers section at www.asda.com was old and out-of-date. We've updated the information, launched the .jobs site and are using press advertising to drive people there," says resourcing manager Judith Colbert.

ASDA's goal was to develop a new corporate careers site and launch an online application process for management jobs. ASDA's resourcing team began the process by updating the firm's employer branding with the www.asda.jobs domain name. Print and online ads using the domain have followed (click here for an example).

After only couple of months, e-recruitement with www.asda.jobs seems to be delivering. "We've had no problem in terms of the volume of candidates applying and the number coming through to assessment process has gone up since we went online - so it seems to be doing its job," Colbert says.

ASDA's next challenge is to extend e-recruitment to the shop floor. With www.asda.jobs, success seems ensured.
